Normal people eat peanut butter. People who are allergic to peanuts eat soy butter. People who are allergic to peanuts and soy, I have recently discovered, eat sunflower seed butter. No joke. I just bought a jar of it at Trader Joe's, and it is an utter novelty to me. As someone who feels nauseous just being in the same room as a PB&J, I am rather a latecomer to this whole category of culinary experience. I don't know quite what to do with it. Tonight for dinner, for example, I ate a sunflower seed butter, chicken, and bok choy sandwich on Meditteranean flatbread. It was surprisingly foodlike.
Other things that amuse me: my knees, which are currently decorated in black and purple thanks to my having used them as a construction tool in the assembly of booksheves several days ago. It turns out that shelving is somewhat less forgiving than the practice targets at my old krav maga training center, where I was originally taught that knees make excellent bludgeoning instruments.
